IFA (Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau) was the state-owned automotive conglomerate in East Germany (GDR) formed in 1948 to coordinate and produce vehicles across the Soviet occupation zone. It oversaw multiple factories that built cars, trucks, buses, vans and motorcycles under various marques, with notable products including the IFA F8 passenger car, Barkas vans, and Robur and W50 trucks. IFA operated through the socialist era and was reorganized and largely dissolved after German reunification in the early 1990s, with several successor companies and brand remnants continuing in different forms.
